Scripture is an invaluable resource for us to use in learning to pray, and the words of Scripture are equally invaluable for us to incorporate into our regular practice of prayer. This study provides some guidance and recommendations in learning to use Scripture in prayer.<\/p>\n

Prayer is offered to us as a practice full of promises, and learning these promises helps us grow in prayer. Jesus promised to respond to every prayer when offered in agreement with his will and way. James encourages us by saying we can be as effective as Elijah in prayer. Why would James tell us such a thing if powerful prayer were not possible for Christians today? Paul tells us in his letter to the Christians in Philippi that we can bring all our requests to God who will then fill us with His peace. Effective prayer is not limited to a special group of Christians but is available to all of Jesus\u2019 disciples.<\/p>\n

Learning to use Scripture in prayer is an excellent way to deepen the practice and effectiveness of our faith.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
