Word lists have long been one of my favorite study tools in my own devotional life, and as I prepare to share with others. Our understanding will be crippled if we base it on one or two passages. If we want to understand topics like prayer, or our new character in Christ, then we should read all the passages where these are described. It is difficult to locate all the words or even know what word is being used in a verse since most of our resources are based on English translations of the Bible.

This group of lists includes all the words from the New Testament that are translated as each description of Christian character. I then list each passage where the word appears. From these lists I know you can hear the entire conversation of Scripture describing each portion of our character in Jesus. Use this resource to deepen your understanding of the new character the Lord is forming in us by His Spirit. Read, study, and pray through the lists. Practice what you learn, expecting the Lord to transform your character as described in these passages. He will, because this is his desire!
