How do we partner with God? You may want to stand on the sidelines and watch for a while. You may feel like others are more qualified, or that they have a better sense of what to do.
The Lord doesn’t invite bystanders. In today’s devotional we’ll look at how we begin partnering with the Lord in his work.
We begin by, well, starting. From creation the Lord invites every one of his followers into his work. We don’t really understand his work until we begin to follow him. We will never feel prepared until we start.
In this video we will look at a number of examples of how the Lord has always, even from the start of creation, taught us by welcoming us into his work. The Lord’s primary training method is watch briefly, and the intensive on the job training.
Our inability to be prepared is part of the problem of sin, and we only overcome this by turning to and following the Lord. Turning to him, receiving life from him, and following him includes our jumping into his work.
How do we learn to serve? We start and keep going. How do we learn to pray? Start, and keep going. How do we learn to study Scripture? Start, and keep going. This is actually how the whole world works. How do we learn to play an instrument? Start and keep going. How does a child learn to walk? Start and keep going. How do you learn another language? Start and keep going.
