Love is the driving force behind everything that Jesus says and does. He not only came to show us real love, but to enable us to receive, to be transformed by, and express God’s own love in our lives.
In this devotional we’re looking together at John 3:16-17 and John 13:1.
It is important for us to see that God does indeed love us. He does not approach us in judgement, but in love through Jesus.
In receiving his love we then adopt his manner of life, which is a life of love. We too, then, work for the salvation of all others.
We need to let these promises sink deep into our hearts and minds. Let these two verses renew your and my perspective on life.
This new life s not just a one day in the future avoid hell and get heaven kind of life. This promise of eternal life that starts now as we follow Jesus. Jesus came in love to bring real life to us, an eternal life in our life here and now.
